Pros

SEO experience, access to SEO tools, refurbished employee laptops, unlimited PTO

Cons

Your monthly quota resets every month. You can go from being a top performer rock star one month to being put on a Performance Plan the next. People have been quickly and consistently getting fired since I started working at SEMrush 2 years ago. Worrying if you’ll still have your job every month is not healthy. This place has horribly unrealistic expectations of its salespeople. It’s terrible on mental health and everyone seems stressed out and miserable. It can also take a long time to credit on a sale you made to get approved (merges) so half the time you don’t even know at the end of the month if you’ve hit your quota or not. Then when you do it doesn’t even matter or last long. As you go straight back to zero the next month. Salesforce & Slack are a mess.

Dear Colleague, Thank you for the feedback. Compensation plans may change, and we communicate clearly that it might happen quarterly. Truly, working in Sales is always about plans, reaching goals, and KPIs. It could be stressful, but we care about people and do our best to reduce these stress factors by providing clear expectations, being open about possible changes, and so on. We’re saddened you were disappointed by your experience with us. Yours, the Semrush Team

Cons

There's a lot to learn, which isn't a con - but something good to know.

Pros

The product is an industry leader, making it exciting to work on. The teams are filled with incredibly smart, creative, and collaborative people. Benefits and remote flexibility are solid, and there are good opportunities to learn SEO and digital marketing deeply.

Cons

The work culture can occasionally lean toward working harder than playing hard especially as the company scales.
