Pros
-flexible hours -some really good store managers. -end of the year bonus -cool coworkers
Cons
The owners are terrible people. Sure a lot of times they come in, say hi, flirt with female workers. So initially most people like them, until they realize on a whim they can be fired or chewed out. I've seen owners come in and throw tantrums, throwing things on the floor and shouting at workers. I've seen a good worker who just punched in get blamed for the state of the store and he was fired on the spot by the owner. Management from all levels get pretty scared when the owners are in a bad mode. Too many bosses. One boss will tell you one thing and another boss will tell you something else. So a lot of times you're screwed if you do and screwed if you don't. A few managers really sucks. I've been personally chewed out by one of the corporate managers for not making a new sales tag. The thing is he should know, I do not have the authority to do that. That same manager more than once created a scene in the middle of the store. One of those times the worker deserved to be talk to though, but not like that. Then of course, there are other managers who don't know what theyre doing, or can be straight up jerks. Poor wages Advancement is not easy. They much rather hire from the outside, than promote excellent workers. A lot of the pros about this job can be found at other work places.
