Pros
After working there for over a decade I feel I can give an accurate review of the company now that I work somewhere else that was very similar to my position at Seneca. Seneca really does invest in the company itself as in the buildings and company as a whole which gives the feeling of long term job security. Buildings are very old but maintained very well. If you want money…..you’ll get money! Almost endless overtime through the summer will provide you with some pretty decent money. Salaries are just about average for the area so that’s about a wash in good vs bad. In the off season you will work 4 - 10 hour days which is quite nice.
Cons
You will be worked! No work life balance from June to October….they own you. 12 hours a day 7 days a week with days off sprinkled in there. Management is a bit of the good ol boys club and the small town atmosphere plays into that. You will be forced to wear many many hats and you’ll be told to do whatever they need to be done….even if you have no idea what you are doing.
