Pros

Clients were sweet and understanding easy to work with.

Cons

No communication at all. Poor management and poor contact with clients. Constant having to call office about issues clients had or I had with scheduling. Turn over in office was high so always had to repeat everything to new staff about regular clients. Lack of concern was reason for leaving. Constantly had to bug office staff about getting things done or switched. No regard for employees or client needs with all the turnover.

The owners are great. The management is very supportive.

I can use more hours because I get intrinsic satisfaction out of providing direct care for clients

Pros

Get to meet wonderful people. Get to see into peoples lives, and treasure getting to know them. Ask questions, get to hear about how they got to where they are, what their philosophies are, their life stories, their advice. The opportunity for connection is limitless.

Cons

Dementia! I learned to love working with dementia patients but be warned if it's your first job with them. Don't take what they say personally. I wish someone had told me that before my first position. It's not about you. It's about them. Second! Beeoches. There are so many old ladies you're going to run into who are BEEOCHES. Don't be afraid to tell the bossman that I'm sorry, this isn't a good fit. I was too afraid to say something and ended up staying with a little old lady who was H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS to work with for two years. Former CEO of a company. Beeoch! Stand up for yourself. If you don't know how, this job will teach you. You'll learn a lot about yourself if you don't know yourself very well!
