Pros

The best part of working for Senior Star is the culture. We care about each other. We are a company, yes, but we are a company of people and we see each other as people and not just as the outcome of the job that we perform. There is an incredible amount of respect that is given to each associate from the CEO to the dishwasher. We run a difficult and complex business, but we are in it together.

Cons

I think that the hardest thing about working at Senior Star is how spread out we are geographically. It is time consuming and expensive to visit other properties and the home office in Tulsa.

Pros

Great people to work with. Made a lot of great friends and honestly why I worked there so long.

Cons

Pay jumped during covid, which made a lot of us realize how little we were all getting paid. The 20 dollars an hour was before I left. At the time I was working there I could have walked across the street and gotten a job at target and gotten paid more stocking shelves, working less hours, and less work, than what I was making cooking for 10 years at the same location, but I was young stupid and didn't know my worth. I still have friends that work there and believe it has gotten better.
