Pros

- talented engineering team - flexible working hours - central downtown location - nice office space

Cons

- very high turnover, just ask management why so many people have left in the last year - lots of talking to address problems but no action results - old technology stack - no ability to hire top talent either because the salary is low or the word is out that the company is sinking - not a product company, essentially custom development based on sales requirements - every project is rushed and as a result is poor quality

Thanks for the compliments on our office, we think it’s great too. We’re looking forward to expanding our office in the next couple of weeks. We’ll share pictures once the construction and design are complete. We understand that the recent employee turnover might seem surprising to some employees––or worse yet, might seem like a symptom of a greater problem--but rest assured, our management team was not surprised by any of these departures. It’s not uncommon for employees to leave during times of transition, or for employees to simply outgrow a company of our size. We have regular updates with our direct reports and do our best to provide them with opportunities for career growth. That being said, we could improve in some areas. We know we need to do better at providing learning and development opportunities, offering more feedback and recognition, and encouraging the team to be more innovative. We’ve launched initiatives to improve these areas with projects like 360 Reviews, Engagement Surveys, reintroducing Hackathons, and more. In the last 6 months, we’ve hired key senior technology and product leaders whose role it is to develop and empower our growing team. We take our time with recruitment to ensure that we hire the right people. We do prioritize our recruitment for senior technical roles, however, the market for experienced tech talent is tough at the moment. Couple that with needing talent that fits our culture and values, and it makes the search more challenging. It may seem like non-technical roles are prioritized because their time to fill is quicker, but it doesn’t mean we’re not working hard to find new Sensibillians. Growing a scale-up is not always smooth sailing. To thrive at Sensibill, you have to be motivated by our challenges (which will change over time), and have the desire and resilience to work collaboratively to overcome them. That motivation may exist for you in the beginning and dissipate over time as we grow. We’ll work with you to rediscover that motivation, but we also recognize that we may not be successful; and that’s okay too.

Pros

The people I worked with were some of the best people I've come across in the industry so far. Self directed, creative and humble. They were very supportive and I learned a lot from them.

Cons

I think the biggest con is the shaky product market fit, but if the team keeps at it something will stick. One important ingredient for the company to succeed would be to control data acquisition pipeline and not depend upon partners in the b2b spectrum as a sole mechanism.

With regards to market fit, Sensibill is passionate about and excited by growth in clients who are solving small business pain points, and the hand we’ve had in assisting them in that space.

Pros

I've worked at Sensibill for almost two years now and it has been such a refreshing experience. Everyone is working towards the same goal and that cohesiveness makes for a great working environment. I've worked at other places where people are playing politics games and trying to get ahead of each other but at Sensibill it's understood that the way we move forward is by doing what's best for the company and our clients. We also have some great talent and I feel like I can trust my peers skillsets but also I can trust that their intentions are for the best and they want to help each other and the company succeed. I also wanted to call out how impressed I am with the diversity at Sensibill. You will rarely see this company waving a flag about how diverse they are but they live it. We have people from all walks of life and representation from so many different cultures. But the most important thing is that Sensibill strives to empower each employee and encourage them to use their experience and bring their own ideas to the table.

Cons

Sensibill is a startup in a niche market. There's a lot of obstacles to overcome in the industry and limited resources and startup grinding can make things difficult. We have been expanding our product line which is great but after having had just one product for so long it takes time to build up the right momentum.
