Pros

Other than the flexibility in terms of Work/Life balance I cannot think of a single pro that Sensibill offers and even that is nothing special as most companies, especially startups, offer the same if not more flexibility. If it had any real pros the turn over rate would not be as high as it is.

Cons

I had been delaying this review for a while after I left since I assumed that my departure could have been a wake up call for the higher management; however, it seems that they are indeed a lost cause and continue to damage more people, so I feel ethically obliged to share my extremely bad experience at Sensibill with anyone else who might be considering to join them. Short Summary: Do not waste your time! If you are a technical person looking for actual cutting edge experience and expect the trust and freedom to do your work and innovate, look elsewhere. Sensibill is nothing more than a cheer leading competition where the higher management clearly has certain favourite "popular kids" who get as much time off as they want and get to use any technology they want without anyone knowing about it, not even the CTO whose credit card is being charged :) ... as long as they come back with some fancy numbers which are technically worthless because they can never go into production in any live environment. On the other hand if you are a product or marketing person who loves to clap and do the whole cheer leading routine that feeds the ego of clueless management then feel free to join in and enjoy your time.........till some Monday morning you find yourself swimming with the other fishies in the "ocean" of the job market looking for something new :) Lots of reviews speak about people and culture, but it is mostly fake stuff because most people at Sensibill are fake and I do not blame them, it is simply what the management has encouraged and promoted for years it seems. They only like you when they need you and you are helping, when the work is done you are pretty much invisible to them and if you are leaving they do not even want to speak to you which only means they do and will trash talk behind your back as other negative reviews have stated. Out of the higher management I have to admit that the CTO is an ethically good person, but he is distant from the actual technical work and is trusting the wrong people for making calls as well as the fact that there is a very incompetent COO in place who interferes with decisions when she cannot even define a KPI... yes a COO who cannot define what a KPI is even after ranting 15 mins about it, this tells you a lot about the state of the company right? #PIE... More like LIE ? It is a worthless motto... Passion? More like passion for cheer leading and kissing up.... Integrity? Maybe if they are more honest about benefits and promotions and not just hiding things and lying about it all.... Excellence? I know it is not very professional but "LOL" is all I can say about that... There is a lot more to be said, but trust me as someone with nearly a decade of experience working for both small companies and a big enterprise, Sensibill is not a technology company, nor a product company as they want to call themselves... they are clueless and have no strategy nor mission except do their best to beg for investor funding, but Fintech is not a field you can fool anyone in for a long time...... Sensibill's days are numbered and I do not see it around in a few years.

We appreciate feedback and, as we’ve said before, we believe that debate and discussion is healthy. We’re always aiming for transparency, and in the spirit of transparency, we thought it was important to respond to this review. First, we’d like to clarify that our turnover rate is well within industry standards. We understand that startup life can feel turbulent at times, but turnover is part of normal company growth. Admittedly we’ve had some people move on to their next role/company over the past few months, but as a startup transitioning into becoming a scale-up, that’s not abnormal. As we grow, we’ve had to establish processes that may not have existed before, work more cross-functionally than ever before, and also work with many more people than we did when we were a small, scrappy company! Through all of these changes, we’ve had people that have been with us since the very beginning, newbies coming in to begin their startup adventure, and veterans from the corporate and startup worlds joining us on an exciting fintech journey. It’s never easy saying goodbye to people that have been with us as we grow, but we acknowledge their contributions and wish them all the best of luck as they move on to new things. The second point we’d like to address is around the technical aspect of Sensibill. Our technology department represents more than half of our organization. Each team in that department is doing innovative work and contributing to a product that is helping real people with real problems. The Research team builds machine learning solutions to extracting data from receipts, the platform team builds the infrastructure upon which these solutions sit, and a product development team builds the SDK’s and API’s that leverage these solutions that we implement in the mobile applications of massive financial institutions. To be able to build a product that’s ‘bank tough’ is no small achievement and we’re extremely proud of the engineers that have contributed to our success. A large part of this review focuses on our company culture. With respect to having a ‘cheerleader culture’, we do believe in celebrating the achievements and successes of our teams. That being said, we encourage our teams to engage in healthy debate, disagree until they find the best solution, and then commit to executing on a plan. When that process ends in a desirable outcome, then yes, we like to celebrate the hard work put in by everyone involved. In regards to the comments about our COO, it doesn’t feel constructive to engage with ad hominem attacks. However, we will say that Izabella has been integral to the company’s success and she’s a respected leader and mentor to many. We're not trying to fool anyone here. What we're doing everyday is building our product and making it better for our clients and for our end-users. We’ve been transparent about our growing pains in the past and taken tangible steps to address issues raised by our team. We’ve seen results from these initiatives and we’ll continue evolving and improving.

Pros

The people I worked with were some of the best people I've come across in the industry so far. Self directed, creative and humble. They were very supportive and I learned a lot from them.

Cons

I think the biggest con is the shaky product market fit, but if the team keeps at it something will stick. One important ingredient for the company to succeed would be to control data acquisition pipeline and not depend upon partners in the b2b spectrum as a sole mechanism.

Pros

I've worked at Sensibill for almost two years now and it has been such a refreshing experience. Everyone is working towards the same goal and that cohesiveness makes for a great working environment. I've worked at other places where people are playing politics games and trying to get ahead of each other but at Sensibill it's understood that the way we move forward is by doing what's best for the company and our clients. We also have some great talent and I feel like I can trust my peers skillsets but also I can trust that their intentions are for the best and they want to help each other and the company succeed. I also wanted to call out how impressed I am with the diversity at Sensibill. You will rarely see this company waving a flag about how diverse they are but they live it. We have people from all walks of life and representation from so many different cultures. But the most important thing is that Sensibill strives to empower each employee and encourage them to use their experience and bring their own ideas to the table.

Cons

Sensibill is a startup in a niche market. There's a lot of obstacles to overcome in the industry and limited resources and startup grinding can make things difficult. We have been expanding our product line which is great but after having had just one product for so long it takes time to build up the right momentum.
