Pros
The benefits are good, along with job security. Sentara does not lay off staff, they will retrain you or help you find another position if need be. Nurses and care partners can get extra pay when coming in and the staffing need is critical.
Cons
If a nursing unit properly staffs their floor, staff can get pulled to float to a unit that is running short. Administrative Associates are not given extra incentives for coming in extra when there is a staffing need. There is also little to no information regarding advancement for Administrative Associates.
