Pros

I know the atmosphere tends to vary from store to store, but the community at my store among other advisors was very welcoming and lovely. It is the only thing I will miss.

Cons

Sephora's values are inconsistent and constantly changing, making it harder for employees to keep up. Working flex in particular below part-time means that your hours aren't guaranteed, making scheduling plans outside of work rather difficult. Part-time/full-time employees must give full availability, including on weekends, so again, this makes plans rather impossible. Sephora also preaches "work and life balance" without giving the necessary tools for their employees to do so, considering that they need full availability from them. Being a flex beauty advisor means that the only benefit you have working there is your 30% discount, which you might not even get to use if you're only scheduled 2 or 3 days a week. If you have bills to pay, I would not recommend the flex position to anybody. The company has seemingly gotten cheaper, despite its evergrowing success, and all of the changes that have occurred throughout my tenure there have changed the sense of appreciation and morale among part-time and flex workers in particular.

Pros

I've worked at two different locations in different cities. Both locations have WONDERFUL management, they are always super understanding. They lead with integrity and passion for beauty. Gratis is always a plus! But being apart of a team that has your back and truly wants to see you thrive makes all the difference!

Cons

I really don't have any cons for Sephora. They have poured into me the same way I've poured into the clients that come into the store. My only wish would be that Flex employees also receive gratis because they too need training products in order to recommend brands to clients.

Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable, supportive coworkers. Management is generally pretty good. You get to work with all the fun products and learn directly from brand reps. And the customers are there to learn about the products - and you get to talk to them about the best products. If you're excited about Sephora, go apply!

Cons

Hours vary based on the time of the year.
