Pros

-Simple work, yet meaningful work -Great entry-level pay, very easy to get hired. -SUPER friendly staff with diverse backgrounds -Nice benefits and plenty of time off -Some opportunity for recognition and/or growth (depending on what you're looking for) -Able to stay on the employee roll for future hires after being laid off. Looking forward to getting a call to go back to work as soon as the positions open up. -Coworkers were very accommodating and willing to help each other out. Always sharing food, carpooling, giving advice and references. Felt kinda like an odd, oversized family -People seem to have actual pride in their job -Patient trainers and leads who are happy to answer questions (IF there is anyone there to ask)

Cons

-No part time positions, only full time work -Inconsistent training that seems sometimes completely random -Constant changes without any warning and sometimes no logical reason -Takes forever to enact a meaningful change -Strict policy (which is mostly reasonable considering the nature of the job) -Low work flow and not enough assistance available -Inconsistent enforcement of policy -The tools used for the job are honestly a mess, however I can tell that they are always working on changing or improving them. -Misleading hiring. Was told that the contract required a certain number of seats to be filled and that our jobs are safe, but was part of a mass layoff anyway. Was told that we would be trained for more and more work, but was told upon termination that we were never meant to be higher trained. -Complete lack of compassion during the layoff process. Literally gave us the bad news and kicked us out without an ounce of dignity. No "it was a pleasure working with you" or "sorry this had to happen", absolutely nothing. Just "are you interested in future openings, yes or no? please give us your address and phone number. bye" -Dangerously unprofessional and negligent behavior was sometimes entirely overlooked. -Forces people to change their hours without warning or compromise -Too rigid on position/shift change requests -Can't really be helped, but the location is honestly in the middle of nowhere. Most of the people working there live pretty far out (like 20-40 minutes of driving) I have no bitterness towards Serco and actually really loved being there. But like anything, it has room for improvement. I hope they continue to grow and that the changes regarding the ACA do not ruin the contract.

Pros

You get to directly impact clients' success. "Decent" pay for the location.

Cons

Leadership will shift blame onto teams instead of taking accountability for their own shortcomings, and Program Managers won't take the time to seek clarification, leading to misinformed decisions and unfair outcomes. They are more focused on internal politics and protecting their seat than recognizing or rewarding actual contributions. You can work hard for years with consistently strong performance and still be passed over for promotion in favor of someone who has built the right relationships with management, even if the have not proven themselves yet. Support is subpar. Employees often spend more time troubleshooting issues themselves than receiving timely or effective assistance.
