Pros

Seven Counties offers quality insurance benefits. The supervisors on my team are very supportive and there are many opportunities for training. You will meet great therapists and clients. For new clinicians, SCS offers 4 hours of license supervision per month as well as a full-time salaried position.

Cons

On the surface SCS is good. However, I am more dissatisfied the longer I work here. They are short of therapists so expect a never ending stream of referrals even when you have 60-70 clients already. Session notes are due with in 24 hours and there is no allotted time for paper work. You just have to hope some of your people no show. Time management is a constant struggle. Many of the clients no show and therapists are expected to chase them down. It is considered the therapists responsibility to do this as part of providing services(which I disagree with). You will be assigned to evaluate any and all clients and work with any and all presenting problems. The expectation is that new clients can be transferred to someone who is trained in a specific area, but again there are so many clients that probably won't happen. If you are new and need clinical hours and supervision SCS is a viable option. Beyond that, I have no idea why people stay here.

Pros

Very kind staff. People who work there overall care about the kids they work with. Very understanding about mental health days and taking time off is encouraged!

Cons

Lack of structure when it comes to planning long term for kids or coordinating care at times. Lots of driving. If crisis intervention is not your cup of tea (like me), this isn’t for you! You also tell your own trauma a lot to your clients and hear about trauma from your clients. Emotional burnout is a given.

Pros

The time off is plentiful.

Cons

Nothing. I'd never work for them again. They don't care about their employees or staff & the pay is abysmal. Go somewhere else, anywhere else. I've wasted so much of my life there.
