Pros

Office is nice. Pay is on par with industry, but not if you factor in the extra hours expected to be worked consistently.

Cons

• Red Flags from the first two weeks. Orientation including statements like at Shark Ninja you have to "grow thick skin”, “maniacally” attack problems head on, and keep going even if it’s not perfect, then get berated for inaccuracies. If you read through their success drivers, it’s very clear that they will work you to the bone as a minimum expectation. If you are paying attention in orientation you will understand just how manipulative their presentations are. • The CEO mentioned in a townhall that what keeps him up at night is staff, meaning having enough good people to run the business, but his success drivers have created a disgusting culture of disrespect and constant unattainable expectations. They are deeply passionate about their entrepreneurial spirit and “hustle” yet never celebrate wins. • Middle management are constantly trying to appease the ever-changing moods of the c-suite executives, and do not advocate for their employees. When you refuse to start work at 5:30 in the morning you are met with the perception that you can’t handle the “fast-paced” environment. Fast-Paced environment really means inappropriate work hours or load. Advocating for yourself is not respected. • No one trusts anyone at this company, because its full of people who want to get ahead no matter the circumstances. • There is no relationship building because no one has the time or desire to communicate with each other in a clear and decent manner. Yet when you discuss these concerns about working to improve communication, you are met with a “don’t take it personal” instead of a constructive discussion or plan to solve the issues. • As a new employee there is zero training. If you get lucky someone will help you. Otherwise its figure out our “lingo” or get out, because no one wants to waste their time on newcomers. You will never be set up for success. • This place is terrible, I could tell from the very beginning. There are numerous reported incidences of people having mental break downs, and law suits due to the working conditions, unmeetable expectations, and retaliation. The worst part about this is that there is no efforts to improve any of these known issues deeply culturally ingrained issues. They are very aware of the problems and continue to fuel a deeply unhealthy environment of sink or sink at the direction of the trolls in the C suite.

Pros

Impactful work from Day 1 and a great learning experience

Cons

If you are not in the headquarter office, you may miss out on some networking opportunities but the early talent team do their best in providing as many opportunities as possible.

Pros

Some good peers that make the days slightly bearable with the group chat of how ridiculous and hellish the place is

Cons

The speed and agility are just code names for ceo paranoia and inability to make and stick to decisions. Toxic environment perpetuated by the lifers. Entire departments are pit against each other. A culture of public shaming and blaming with a side of discrimination and misogyny. It is absolute chaos and makes you regress professionally because after a while all you do is “yes” the ceo and do things the Shark way which is essentially the Mark way and 0% what other orgs would do or what you learned about/experienced previously. Micromanaging starts from the very top. Product issues daily. People cry daily. Ridiculously high turnover. So much bullying and favoritism. Extremely top heavy and lots of VPs+ to attend meetings but not enough people to actually work. Those in leadership are also unprofessional and liabilities. No work life balance. No respect. Backstabby. Even the meeting are aggressive and called hacks, red teams, sledge hammer approach etc. The best way to be successful here is to be a super caffeinated visible sycophant that is fine with no life outside of work. People note the high comp but it’s not worth it and is not enough compared to the hours actually worked and all the stress and anxiety that comes with it. The moral and mental health here are the lowest I’ve ever seen.
