Pros

Great pay, benefits and healthcare compensation (for an individual), great commission structure. $15 per new line, $3 per upgrade, and %20 of accessories based on quota attainment (at the time of writing). An employee discount was given for service and accessories. All the Shentel (non-Sprint Affiliate) employees were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about their job. They promote teamwork, togetherness, and doing what is right for the customer. Company pays for training and travel expenses, and trainer knowledge and ability is on par with college professors. Scheduling was flexible and managers were willing to accommodate special needs. Monthly sessions were held with top sales reps and upper (out of store) management to provide feedback on what was working or wasn't to facilitate sales and draw customers into the store.

Cons

Policies are enforced on a per-customer basis. Extra care is given to certain customers while others are handled per company policy, this is unfair as it favors friends of employees or customers who complain more or annoy sales reps, while short-changing polite customers who are respectful of the rules, and is very confusing for a sales rep, as it forces them to evaluate the value of a customer, and can change frequently regardless of circumstances. Certain policies are handled on a per-employee basis as well. Given a manager's perception of an employee's circumstances, some behaviors are overlooked for one employee but not another. Staff often spent much of their time speaking poorly of the work ethic, ability, lifestyle, personality, behavior, or decisions of another employee when not present. Information was not consistently disseminated to all staff regrading promotions or changes, was often not in a standardized or simple format, and contained contradictory statements regarding customer qualification for credits or promotions.
