Pros

You are properly taught things about the products you are selling. You have to pass a series of ~ 24 tests before you are considered trained, but even then you learn every day. Great customer clientele, very willing to work with your schedule, very understanding. I can see myself stay with the company at least throughout college. Oh, and starting pay is well above minimum per hour for a part timer. So, not bad for being really young with no experience really per say. Oh, and 40% off isn't bad either.

Cons

very heavy lifting at times. There are a fair amount of meeting you have to go to wherever you district headquarters are, which can be inconvenient, for me it's an hour away.

Pros

Wonderful employees at each store, particularily helpful at navigating the vast expanse of products. Overall, great work environment with special people.

Cons

Customer base could be annoying at times, refusing advice or assistance and then complaining about prices. Contractors can be difficult to deal with especially on weekends, acting like they deserve the best prices and won't listen to manager suggestions.

Pros

A positive work environment. The best co-workers I have had so far in my career worked with me at Sherwin. I also worked under an amazing management team. There is a lot of room for career growth. I worked for Sherwin for about 3.5 years. I started as a contracted lab technician, then I was hired full time as an R&D Associate Chemist. I quickly worked my way up to R&D Chemist within a year of being hired full time. The department I worked in was very fast paced, however, I know there are many other groups that move at a much slower pace with longer timelines. This would make it much easier to manage the workload.

Cons

Working with marketing was challenging at times. We would regularly receive big requests a day before they needed something. This would pose a challenge when you had other priorities to attend to. The pay was average. I do think it could have been slightly higher for all of the job responsibilities given to the chemists in my group specifically. The workload was overwhelming at times.
