Easy work, lousy pay, outdated POS and logistics systems, strange corporate structure. - Sales Associate Shoe Show Employee Review

Pros

Work is easy and a pretty standard retail experience. One manager in each store allows for effective communication between employees and the company. Hourly job allows for flexibility of scheduling for students or those with other jobs. Sort shifts and set hours.

Cons

Commission is structured to sound appealing but, in reality, is constantly whittled away by payroll hours or sales sacrificed to the store's totals. The store's cut supposedly goes to fund raises for employees, but it should be clear that those won't be distributed at the sales or key holder levels. In short, expect to earn minimum wage with occasional extra padding in the check. Though a large company, it is still operated as a family business and relatives of the founder that work for the company will stop by at random, unannounced, and make declarations and order things moved around, no matter if you've recently organized an area per company standards. They will also typically grab the book written by the founder (copies of which are on the register in most every store) and point to their pictures as if to lend some sort of legitimacy to their demands.
