      Pros

      Engineers are generally good people.

      Cons

      Senior leadership team is so far removed from reality. They treat projects that they don't understand out care about as "side-quests" that need to be dropped. Their performance review process is largely undefined, and like making jello to another pile of jello. Plenty of wording in place to deny advancement.

      Base pay is on the higher end for the role

      Cons

      The new commission structure is among the lowest in the industry. You essentially get your commission paid out in tiny increments spread out quarterly over three years. If the merchant ever leaves Shopify, or goes out of business, you leave or get fired, in that time you lose all payouts.
