Pros

Sharing some nice experiences with some customers.

Cons

*Worst paying company. The commission structure is a JOKE! You make a whopping 0.25% commission which is the lowest in the ENTIRE nation. If you sold $30,000 in jewelry, you would make $75 plus your embarrassing hourly pay. Go work somewhere that appreciates your hard work and dedication! NOT HERE! *They also pay for all of these articles for PR. Everything positive you read in the press is a lie. *District Managers have their favorites and they will promote less experienced people than you. They will get rid of anyone who addresses concerns even if you are the top seller and performer. You need to be a favorite in order to move up here. *Hard work will not get you anywhere. Long hours, sometimes 75 hour work weeks, impossible standards to achieve and even when you do, no congratulations just "We can do better" You will break your back and they will spit you out. They will wear you out until you are burnt out completely. *No work and personal life balance. Your life MUST be Signet Jewelers. *Racism, Discrimination, Gender Discrepancy Pay *Gender discrimination, racist managers, employees making lies to upper management to look good and become a favorite. *Customers yell at you because of the botched repairs that come back because they pay Bench Jewelers peanuts to work on thousand dollar products that are made cheap and mass produced. *Greedy CEO with no care for what front line employees go through. *Malicious District Managers *Illegal Business Practices *HR? Non-existent! Tips hotline? Non-existent! Nobody cares about your concerns when the favorites can do whatever they want and get away with it, I could go on..... Very crooked company. I am ashamed at myself for what I have given them and went more than above and beyond.

Pros

Great place to learn how to become a better jeweler and grow your skills, if you are in an environment that takes full advantage of what the company provides. The benefits are also extremely generous with PTO and depending on the work environment, your schedule can be very flexible. Also being a jeweler means you are in a separate department from the sales side of the company and they have no authority over you, and your job as a jeweler isn't impacted by the sales side, you could be working inside a Jared, but it doesn't matter if the salesperson couldn't make the sale, and the money charged between the Service Center and the store is all just a number for tracking margin, so it's really nice being a jeweler that doesn't need to worry about sales or have a salesperson lord over you. It's very different than a mom and pop jeweler job.

Cons

Depending on the shop/manager your growth can be stagnanted. The company pushes for number of units and that's created a mentality of a focus for lesser quality workmanship to pass through QC. The store side salespeople don't get trained well on their side and will lean on the service center side to do the technical things for them. The sales staff knowledge on jewelry can be next to nothing because it's not a requirement for them, so that adds a lot of friction between jeweler and sales staff.
