Pros

Silencerco was founded on 5 great pillars and for many years the owners and upper management ran the business based on those pillars. We felt like a family, like the owners cared about us and what we thought, our voice was heard and so many of the employees ideas were implemented. We felt valued and appreciated, people were happy to work for the owners. Once the owners stepped back (or quit as the employees call it) and handed it over to the 3 main managers that are now running it into the ground, the moral and excitement has died. There are now NO pros to working at Silencerco in its current state.

Cons

Once the 3 new upper managers took over after laying off 1/3rd of the company, they started running it like it was a military barracks. People are threatened with losing their jobs on a daily basis. Employees don't know if they will make it through the week after seeing employee after employee fired for no reason. Employees are quitting in droves, in one week we lost 7 people due to the way they are treated. If you are not a complete jerk, you don't belong in upper management, it seems that you have to be mean to be in charge. Gone are the days of leadership and in are the days of bosses and managers cracking a whip from the back of the pack, telling everyone what to do but not willing to do it yourself. If you call in sick, regardless if you have PTO or not, regardless if you are on deaths doorstep, you have to make up the time on the weekend!! The management constantly lies to its employees. We would be in an all hands meeting and the acting CEO would lie about how many of this product we are going to ship and when I asked my managers about it they would tell me that it is impossible to ship that many. Later in the month the numbers would be modified to the "correct" amount of products to be shipped. Due to extremely bad planning and sales forecasting the amount of mandatory overtime would change from one week to the next, forcing the employees to "never make plans on the weekend" as we were told to do because we may have to be called in to work again. The new slogan at Silencerco is "we will catch it on the warranty return". Silencerco is now all about the money and the number of products shipped in a month, it used to be about the people behind the product and when it is all about the employees, we cared about the product and it shows in what is manufactured and built.

Pros

Open, informal / casual atmosphere. Nice perks and compensation.

Cons

I worked there for 4 months. Management team seems unsure / uncertain of themselves, in experienced, not focused on appropriate priorities and direction. Not understanding or focusing on the right criterion and requirements when hiring resources and filling roles and positions. During the 4 months I worked there I reported to 3 different Supervisors. Not one of them ever set-up a meeting or formally scheduled a meeting with me to discuss their vision of what they needed me to do, or wanted me to focus on, or to ask me what I had been working on, or to provide guidance as to priorities to work on/focus on. The last 2 Supervisors during my final 5 weeks was confusing: I was officially a SiCoSyndicate employee, but they reorganized me from reporting to the President of the SiCoSyndicate to report to the VP of Manufacturing Operations of a different sister division (ZEV Technologies) even though I was not an employee of that division/entity. And on top of that I was told I had a strong dotted line reporting to the VP of Manufacturing Operations of SiCoSyndicate. I was also told my time would be dominated 70% of the time by ZEV Technologies, and about 30% SiCoSyndicate. It turned out to be more 95% time used by SiCoSyndicate only about 5% of time on ZEV Technologies. Reporting to 2 separate Managers/Supervisors for 2 different entities is rarely ever a good idea. There is typically too much competion fighting for the employee's/resource's time, and always priority conflicts. It rarely works out. The cultural atmosphere was too casual, lacked professionalism. They allowed workers to bring their dogs to work in the office, for example. Don't have a good ERP system (Odoo) nor any reporting tools to manage the business and manage and track progress of KPIs and KPMs.
