Pros

Been there over ten years, really enjoyable place to work. Everyone gets their own office. Very high quality of staff, high proportion of engineers with advanced degrees. Debt-free, grows on retained earnings. Won't grow to dizzy heights, but a stable company if you're interested in job security when times get tough. New management taking company in a good direction. Intra-company communication is improving.

Cons

Flat structure can lead to a bit of bottlenecking at the top. Not as bad as it was under the old management, but it's still an issue.

Excellent place to learn how software survives without active development. Engineers gain rapid experience in being resource-optimized. Meetings are plentiful; outcomes optional. Ideal if you enjoy watching institutional knowledge evaporate in real time.

Cons

This was never a strong engineering company - just one that burned through people while coasting on aging products. Engineers are treated as disposable, real contributors are pushed out, and institutional knowledge is routinely discarded. What’s left is process, confusion, and churn instead of technical direction. Customers looking for stability, innovation, or long-term support should be cautious and look elsewhere.
