Pros

No pros whatsoever nothing to say

Cons

So much to say about this company. I worked there for about two months in culinary and I’m glad I’m out. I worked countless hours of overtime, closed alone, because of being understaffed. Upper management got upset because they had the ridiculous expectation of me leaving at my scheduled time when closing alone. They claimed I wasn’t ever fast enough and compared me to another worker who has been there for 3+ years and has previous experience in culinary. I did everything I could to try and improve, I asked multiple people for thorough training and never received it. The main boss for culinary was consistently on FMLA and the person that took their place had it in for me from the start. She wrote me up for things I was told to do, I was told by one of the chefs to focus on getting dishes and tables set and to leave the kitchen for the morning culinary aides so I didn’t stay past my time. Got written up for that even though I was told to do that. Also written up for false accusations, such as clocking out later than my other co worker I did work with on specific days, even though I didn’t. Putting away dirty dishes. Etc. I picked up quite a few shifts and helped others when needed, never received the same in return. This place is a nightmare, at least in culinary. Management doesn’t care about it being understaffed but gets upset when people work overtime. They have ridiculous expectations with the lack of training they offer. They are sneaky, they say one thing and next thing you know it’s another. Management specifically is manipulative and condescending. I was told in my write up how much they regretted hiring me, how they questioned why they did so, that it’s been one thing after another, made me feel like I was the problem in everything. Try to be a good employee only to get mistreated. Not to mention when I started I was being bullied and harassed by a co worker that was also new and in my write up I got told that it was my fault. That “I had the issue with (so and so)” when no, they had an issue with me and I just didn’t tolerate it and reported it. Run away, don’t work here it isn’t worth it

Pros

Very meaningful and rewarding work helping families through one of the hardest transitions in life. The role truly allows you to make a difference and positively impact residents and families every day. Supportive team environment with leadership that understands the emotional side of the work. During a difficult personal time when my grandfather was dying, the company was incredibly supportive and allowed me the time I needed to be at his bedside with my family. It is truly a blessing to be part of Silverado. The work we do changes lives by giving families the opportunity to be family again while knowing their loved one is being cared for with compassion, dignity, and support.

Cons

The work can be emotionally heavy at times because you build close relationships with residents and families who are going through difficult situations. However, the support from the team and leadership helps make those challenges manageable.
