Pros

The residents are the reason you work there. The smiles on their faces and the love they reciprocate towards you is the best feeling! It doesn't feel like work when you're spending time with people you love.

Cons

The senior administrator is cold, unfriendly, unapproachable, intimidating, and never smiles. Not the qualities you would expect from someone in such a position. The management really does not demonstrate appreciation for the hard work you do. That appreciation comes from the residents and their families.

Pros

Very meaningful and rewarding work helping families through one of the hardest transitions in life. The role truly allows you to make a difference and positively impact residents and families every day. Supportive team environment with leadership that understands the emotional side of the work. During a difficult personal time when my grandfather was dying, the company was incredibly supportive and allowed me the time I needed to be at his bedside with my family. It is truly a blessing to be part of Silverado. The work we do changes lives by giving families the opportunity to be family again while knowing their loved one is being cared for with compassion, dignity, and support.

Cons

The work can be emotionally heavy at times because you build close relationships with residents and families who are going through difficult situations. However, the support from the team and leadership helps make those challenges manageable.
