In theory, great "standards and philosophies" in practice- not so much. - Anonymous employee Silverado Employee Review

Pros

You can bring your kids and pets to work. The residents are amazing and a privilege care for.

Cons

The standards that the company were founded upon are now mere suggestions. When Loren Shook rolls in to town, everyone goes in motion- not out of love, but out of fear. The company has become census driven, person centered care is a thing of the past. Benefits are outrageously expensive, there is no transparency or safety for associates to voice their concerns. HR is a joke. Company spends more time flying people all over the place than providing meaningful opportunities for associates or residents. The company appears to have changed focus since the REIT became involved.

Pros

Very meaningful and rewarding work helping families through one of the hardest transitions in life. The role truly allows you to make a difference and positively impact residents and families every day. Supportive team environment with leadership that understands the emotional side of the work. During a difficult personal time when my grandfather was dying, the company was incredibly supportive and allowed me the time I needed to be at his bedside with my family. It is truly a blessing to be part of Silverado. The work we do changes lives by giving families the opportunity to be family again while knowing their loved one is being cared for with compassion, dignity, and support.

Cons

The work can be emotionally heavy at times because you build close relationships with residents and families who are going through difficult situations. However, the support from the team and leadership helps make those challenges manageable.
