Pros

Working with the residents; working with team members; making a positive difference in the quality of lives of those that suffer from dementia

Cons

Low pay, benefits, and there is little work life/balance. Only 4 paid holidays a year, and if you are a manager you will likely work on some of those. Don't even think about bringing concerns to regional or corporate HR. Management would rather fire people than build on their strengths and create opportunities.

Pros

Very meaningful and rewarding work helping families through one of the hardest transitions in life. The role truly allows you to make a difference and positively impact residents and families every day. Supportive team environment with leadership that understands the emotional side of the work. During a difficult personal time when my grandfather was dying, the company was incredibly supportive and allowed me the time I needed to be at his bedside with my family. It is truly a blessing to be part of Silverado. The work we do changes lives by giving families the opportunity to be family again while knowing their loved one is being cared for with compassion, dignity, and support.

Cons

The work can be emotionally heavy at times because you build close relationships with residents and families who are going through difficult situations. However, the support from the team and leadership helps make those challenges manageable.
