Pros

The positive side is the employees you work with. Most people are supportive, hardworking and doing their best in a difficult environment. Many feel they cannot speak up due to fear of retaliation or being pushed out.

Cons

The Global Food Group at Simplot is dominated by a very closed leadership culture. Many executives have been with the company for most of their careers, often with deep ties to the Simplot family or to long-standing internal networks. This creates an environment where challenging the status quo is not encouraged. Employees who raise questions or try to push for improvement often find themselves excluded from decisions or treated differently. Accountability is inconsistent. Leadership performance issues are rarely addressed and underperformance can be overlooked if leaders are viewed as agreeable or aligned with the existing group. Employee feedback during reviews does not seem to lead to meaningful action and concerns are often set aside if they conflict with leadership narratives. There have been repeated concerns around inappropriate behavior at company events without clear consequences. The company promotes values like Passion for People, but the day-to-day experience does not always reflect those values. If you are considering a role here, it may be worth taking time to think about what kind of culture you want to work in. This environment is better suited for those who prefer traditional structures and long-tenured leadership control rather than a modern, transparent or change-focused workplace.

Pros

HQ building is pretty cool and you can get some neat tours of company facilities. Work life balance is generally pretty good.

Cons

The company just has no idea what its doing regarding IT. Most management has been there 25+ years and still wants to operate like its the 90s. Head of IT is an accountant and the department is treated like a necessary evil and employees are told they provide no tangible value. Making any kind of impact is actively discourage and 'stay in your lane' is a core tenet. If you want to just show up, grind, and go home, this is the place for you.
