Pros
- The work is interesting and there is a culture of innovation and experimentation across the business. As it's an insurtech company there is, of course, a focus on AI but it's not solely about this.
- I had great career development at SB and left having had two secondments, with one turning into a permanent role. I was also supported to develop my career in terms of a professional qualification.
- Due to my secondments I had a few different managers in my time at SB and felt supported by them.
- If you are willing then there are often opportunities to get involved in wider SB life and even though I wasn't in a technical role I joined a hackathon team last year.
- There is a genuine sense of care and community and I worked with some awesome people.
- On the whole the benefits are good and having PMI was really valuable for me.
Cons
The nature of the business means there will always be some form of change going on. If you aren't comfortable with a little bit of ambiguity you might find it hard.
