Pros

- The work is interesting and there is a culture of innovation and experimentation across the business. As it's an insurtech company there is, of course, a focus on AI but it's not solely about this. - I had great career development at SB and left having had two secondments, with one turning into a permanent role. I was also supported to develop my career in terms of a professional qualification. - Due to my secondments I had a few different managers in my time at SB and felt supported by them. - If you are willing then there are often opportunities to get involved in wider SB life and even though I wasn't in a technical role I joined a hackathon team last year. - There is a genuine sense of care and community and I worked with some awesome people. - On the whole the benefits are good and having PMI was really valuable for me.

Cons

The nature of the business means there will always be some form of change going on. If you aren't comfortable with a little bit of ambiguity you might find it hard.

Pros

Great work life balance and vacation time....

Cons

Many internal issues and felt like this last round of layoffs was to protect inadequate leaders vs hardworking employees. I understand companies do layoffs but this just felt like Senior management trying to protect themselves because they aren't doing an effective job. I really think there are some issues with the leadership team and it probably needs an overhaul. There was never any strategy from product outside of one small area. The rest of the business was left without any guidance or support. I really think the US/UK shared services model does not work. The UK and US just are entirely different markets and the UK at the end of the day doesn't really care about the US nor move as quickly.
