Pros

Pay is decent, hours are good. It is a fairly easy job if you enjoy customer service. Weekend hours are shortened so you won't have to work an entire Saturday.

Cons

Management did not act out the values that Site One claims to stand for. There were daily workplace actions that led to a very uncomfortable working environment. Customer service for homeowners was not good. Management only cares about contractors. Basically the company exists on values that are not put into action. The only value the company cares about is making a profit. Human resources did not help with any problems at work.

Pros

Benefit package, access to network with other professionals in the industry, industry exposure.

Cons

Every branch I have spoken with in our MSA is understaffed. I was a manager and most of my workday consisted of doing tasks for other job titles that we did not have in our branch. This caused me ultimately not being able to do the job I was hired for and overall made me feel like I was undermined and not being able to feel fulfilled. Based on financial results we had in years past, we could afforded an additional full time employee with a respectable salary while still surpassing EBITDA targets. I am not above doing any task, but when you get hired for a role in a branch expect to do many, many other things outside your job description. It becomes taxing and overwhelming and many people can not find the work-life balance, take advantages of the tuition reimbursement program the company advertises and overall enjoyment in their work. For type A people that want to succeed and meet goals, the discrepancy between the salary and hours needed to accomplish their goals is too far apart.
