Driving job - horrible. Extremely old, broken down, unsafe, truck and forklifts. Not safe at all, in spite of their corporate safety mantras. Driving job consisted of MANUALLY unloading pallet loads of 50 lb bags of fertilizer, by hand, every day. Loading truck with very old, dangerous forklifts, then manually unloading, one by one, 50 lb bags of fertilizer, bark, limestone, and other chemicals, on the job sites and deliveries. Was told the truck would have a truck-mounted forklift, donkey truck, piggyback, etc. No, that was not true. Manually unloading everything by hand, including 600 lb drums of liquid iron and 50 lb bags of fertilizer all day, every day. Tying down PVC pipe with broken and missing straps. Product tipping over and/or falling off the truck, while en route, is a common occurrence. Forklift and truck logbooks require numerous steps to be taken for daily checklists. Five minutes were given to complete these tasks, and told to just check them off, copy/paste. Required to punch out for lunches, but not actually able to stop and take one. Called and questioned when taking an authorized lunch break. Budgets are limited to each individual branch, which results in costly, inefficient, dangerous, risky, and unsafe shortcuts in equipment and vehicles. Promise of a 90 review and raise not fulfilled. False hope of transferring to a local branch, based on lip service.
