Pros

If you like getting yelled at multiple times a day by middle and upper management: this is the place for you. Considering you will also work 6 days a week at minimum: you will learn a decent bit. The people on the floor are good to work with. Wow, that's four whole "pros": surely this place is great to work at, right? NO!

Cons

I could write a Gettysburg address on the issues with this place, but I'll keep it succinct. If I could describe upper management in three words, I would use: clueless, incompetent, and predatory. To management, everyone who works here should roll over like a dog and get walked over, and those who quit are just weak minded fools. This company is on track to lose 90% of its process engineering staff in the next month. Instead of trying to fill the GAPING hole left by 60% of the process engineers quitting in the last 2 months, they thought it would be a great idea to go out and hire more middle management. Simultaneously, they have started taking their incompetence out on the engineering staff who have been working 6 days a week for the last four months with no bonuses. Not even a single "thank you" has been uttered by this lot after forcing their entire engineer and technician staff to work 6 days a week for four months. Just management caterwauling about how we are the problem and cause for this unjust treatment. Did I forget to mention the constant moving of the goalposts of the staff going back to a 5 day schedule. We have been lead on by professional tinder catfishes in this aspect, being told that there is a light at the end of the tunnel just for it to be filled with more demands and ridicule. All of their procedures for their tools are ancient, and they have no vendor support. When maintenance identifies an issue with the tool, we are just told to run the tool into the ground, and then get yelled at when something gives out. Sometimes I wonder if this place is a reenactment of the Truman show, because my time here has been a fever dream to say the least. And of course, you can't talk about this place without discussing rampant safety issues. Engineers have received absolutely ridiculous and unsafe requests left and right at the behest of management, with seemingly no regard for the floor workers' health. I have worked at dysfunctional minimum wage jobs that have been managed better than this place. Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention that the "HR" department is really just a strong arm for company interests. We have had HR representatives press individuals over not working 6 days a week while they work a calm 37 hours weekly. I have never dealt with a more mephistophelian group of individuals in my life. If you are thinking about working at this place, I urge you to reconsider.

Pros

Paychecks are consistently on time. The pace of the work encourages rapid learning and exposes employees to a wide range of technical challenges. Great but continuously shrinking team of veteran floor employees.

Cons

Hostile work environment. Chaotic and disorganized. Out of touch and toxic upper management. Extreme micromanaging and paranoia around time theft. Blame culture from upper management. Prioritizes hiring more managers to exert control over floor personnel rather than investing in additional floor personnel or additional resources for floor personnel. No training / procedures out of date for much of the equipment. Sink or swim environment for new hires. Expects output within 1-2 weeks of start date. Safety concerns / no LOTO standards. “Yes men” culture — honest or realistic input is punished. Four months straight of six-day mandatory work weeks 60+ hour weeks with no additional compensation for salaried employees. No recognition for effort. No carrot, only stick / punishment for failure to abide by six-day policy. Moving goalposts on success criteria for returning to original schedule. No accountability for this. Extreme attrition from the process engineering team, on track for 100% team attrition within half a year. HR, more so than other companies, serves as a strong arm for management. Cannot hire or retain experienced process engineers due to the above. Has switched to hiring only desperate fresh grads for low pay who do not have a frame of reference for what is normal and don’t push back on an abusive environment. Revolving door company. If a fresh grad is reading this and the choice is between working here and looking for another few months, save your mental health and keep looking.
