There are the "Golden Children" within the company. This is absolutely true. Mainly sales, but also in Product and Account Management. The only reason they get away with the things they do is because the top brass Tyler (CEO) and DJ (COO) have established this culture. The "Golden Children" are their direct personal friends. The toxic culture comes straight from the top. It's not a secret to HR either. They've been told on countless exit interviews about this and are well aware, yet nothing changes because the power lies with Tyler and DJ, who are rarely in the office. It is very true that they are absent most of the time. Hard work is rarely recognized but often criticized. This was a regular complaint by multiple departments. When the company was sold to Fidelity, product innovation slowed to a crawl. Fidelity had their own plans for software changes they wanted specifically for Fidelity that had nothing to with the main SkySlope platform. Open office environment is horrible. They pack you in like sardines with television screens at the end of every row (it's very distracting and stressful). When you think they'll finally expand to the 3rd floor (which is also theirs), they just add another long table into a walkway on the 2nd floor and squeeze another 10 people in.
