Pros
- Challenging technical and business problems - Tech stacks are top notch (depending on the team) - People are passionate and engaged - Engineering leadership has your back - Lots of freedom to do your job as you see fit - Ability to make an impact as an individual - Free catered lunches and snacks - Management does not care about butts in seats
Cons
- WFO just started, and most do not enjoy every aspect of it. - Layoffs recently have naturally made the atmosphere more serious. - Decisions made are made very top down and very revenue driven. - More stress than some cushy jobs, but not bad. - Company success is very tied to interest rates. - Has been historically a great place to work, but has tightened up due to the real estate market. - Moving up at SkySlope is challenging and like most jobs, you should have regular talks with your boss if you feel you are being unfairly compensated or your position is not where it should be. I have absolutely worked hard for every promotion but have been given many promotions and pay raises, so i'm doing something right.
