Pros
The travel benefits are amazing. I LOVED the crews. Honestly they were mostly easy to work with and they were "family" for the four days I was out on the road.
Cons
Low pay, unsupportive management. In fact, the management was the most disappointing asset of this company. They will smile in your face, pretend to care or want to help you then turn around and slap you in the face. The whole "family" thing is a facade. If you aren't kissing up to the company or friends with management, they will let you go for some very stupid reasons. The way they treat reserves is beyond ridiculous, overworking them to the point of insanity, try to take advantage of them by pushing to the max limit, and overall just very insensitive. This airline has no union, so if you are in deep water, you are on your own. Don't even bother with SIA. They are a waste of time. They say they stick up for flight attendants, but yet they sit silently while letting management come up with ridiculous reasons to fire an employee. If you have a chance to go to mainline----PLEASE DO. Better pay, better quality of life, a Union who actually cares about flight attendants, and holds the company accountable, more international trips, better chance for advancement, etc. Don't get me wrong there will always be issues in any airlines, but not as much as I've seen at Skywest. The drama, the backstabbing, keeping employees that are constantly being written up or have done something actually bad all bc they kiss up to management or snitch on other flight attendants, etc. Skywest isn't what it used to be. There were once a time where the company used to care about its employees. Now it's just a company that has gotten too big for it's own good and cares more about money
