The Interview was decent, but the training was one of the worst experiences of my life. Since training was between the interview and actually having the job, I'll write about it here. The way they treat and talk to trainees is dehumanizing. It's kind of like being on the Hunger Games because people are constantly being sent home for dumb reasons (I decided to leave on my own). The shuttles to and from the hangar at the end of the day can take up to an hour to get you back every night and you only get two days off the entire month (and each day is roughly 9-10 hours not including travel to/from the hangar, and you're still expected to do homework). The trainers claim that this is to "get you used to it" even though FA's get at least one day off a week in real life. They also don't discuss sexual harassment AT ALL in this month-long training (I left after two weeks but it is not listed anywhere in the calendar). This is extremely problematic for a industry that definitely deals with sexual harassment toward flight attendants and has had instances of pilots drugging and raping flight attendants (there are stories like this from SkyWest and their partner, Alaska Airlines). However, we were told stories about people stalking flight attendants to their hotel and showing up at their door. We were also warned that some of SkyWest's partners allow people to take pictures of crew and to watch out because some people take pictures of FA's in their skirts for fetish websites. When another concerned trainee asked if this qualified as sexual harassment, the instructor denied it by asking repeatedly "How is that sexual harassment?" in an annoyed tone (for the record, it clearly is) and then she advised us to "just keep your legs closed" (seriously, she said this, in 2019) If you want to work for a company that respects its employees (trainees or not) and has values that belong in the 21st century, this is NOT the job for you.
