Pros

- Great culture - Guided by strong core values - Superb office

Cons

- Growth hasn't been followed by appropriate corporate services - HR, travel, performance, promotions etc all feel designed for a company a third of the size. - Company wants to become global but struggle to work between nearby markets like London and Manchester. - London is being led by an American (which is odd for a company who wants to be hyper local). EMEA and APAC is led by... another American.

Great that culture and core values stand out, even as we scale internationally. You’ve called it right on the growing pains for our business as we go global. Having seen it from my role as the first country leader for Slalom outside of North America I can say Slalom has learned and grown so much in this area over the past 5 years…and that we have so much more to do! It’s an incredible task (and privilege) to create a global company – I’ve got so much respect for those companies who have travelled the journey and operate their businesses efficiently across countries/continents. Thanks for your advice on the global/local point – I do wonder about that topic myself! I love our local model, I think it differentiates Slalom from others and will work in countries outside the US. I’m also in awe of what we’re doing to connect our capabilities globally where it makes sense to best serve our clients and partners. We’re hoping to set a new standard for a company in our sector that is globally connected and yet hyper local for how we deliver and how we look after our people. Regarding the feedback about nationalities, I think one key factor in our success is international diversity at all levels. It’s amazing to be part of a 35 nationality team in Slalom UK and Ireland – and it’s also wonderful to have leaders in our business who have 18+ years of experience in Slalom that they can share with our people and our clients. Appreciate your feedback and the steer. Ping me on dave.williams@slalom.com if you want to chat through some more – you’re seeing things that I recognise and I’m energised to work on as Slalom grows. -Dave Williams, President and Country Leader, UK&I

Pros

people are very kind and its a great network to then have for life

Cons

I had 5 managers in 4 years, 3 of which promised me a promotion which I never got I was strung along in a seperate global team for a year and a half and then when I finally was moved to that group they fired 80% of us it's now an up or out company and people are leaving faster than business is coming in, that's been happening for 2 yrs my mental health was so bad i had two burnouts in a single year my last manager emotionally abused me and made me feel like i was a terrible person. I left believing that was why I was fired until i chatted with another former employee of this manager work life balance WAS a thing and in the last two years it's now that consultants are also responsible for selling, travel is a non-negotiable but expectations for travel are not transparent and can impact your yearly review, straight up not enough work and then senior management will make you feel bad for it
