Pros
Sort of fast growth, although no1 really knows where or how it's coming. Customers, funding, and even some internal employee titles are kept a secret. It's very weird. Mgmt is aware that the company has crazy turnover, so they are doing more happy hours. Doesn't help the fact that everything else sucks. People there are smart and hardworking but they don't stay long. This is the first job I have left before at least hitting the 2 year mark.
Cons
You are watched like a hawk: you could work 90 hour weeks, but don't dare leave at 4:30 or take a 62 minute lunch, or you will have an email warning from HR. You are told to work beyond 8-5 but the company doesn't let you leave early or take any time for your personal life. No matter how many hours of your time you used on the weekend or after 5. If you work well it's not recognized, if you work in a way that's not up to CEO's style, you are threatened. Was told by manager that you are scolded for "checking out on weekends" when you don't check email on weekends of holidays. CEO tells people that because Google and Yahoo aren't allowed to have their people work from home we shouldn't expect it. Its rumored that CEO brags about telling interview candidates that if they want work/life balance they should go somewhere else. Some people can work with this, I can't. I'll be gone as soon as I have another job.
