Pros

You're guaranteed minimum wage, so if you're just starting out or are new to the area, it's an okay place to get your speed up.

Cons

People shop in Walmart for deals, so it's rare to get people coming in when they don't have a coupon and it's nearly impossible to build a clientele based on coupons.. People think you're a Walmart associate, rather than a professional stylist. You're hours are going to be all over the place. The salon looks like it's been decorated by a kindergartener. Walmart dictates a lot that you can do in the salon (no cordless phones which sucks on Saturdays, and no fridge for the backroom). I've worked for sister salons in the company, and this is by far the worst experience.

Pros

I loved working there. I loved my job. I loved meeting new people..

Cons

• Poor management and retaliation for raising concerns • Unauthorized schedule changes with no notice • Unfair NCE pressure and write-ups despite strong sales performance • Micromanagement from 400+ miles away with no understanding of local conditions • High turnover due to bad communication and bullying
