      Awful management - Hair Stylist SmartStyle Employee Review

      Pros

      Instant clientele, but no marketing for the salon. So some days are SLOWWWW and others busy. Hit or miss with it, but if you stick it out you can build a clientele.

      Cons

      Management is awful. There's no HR department so my supervisor seemed to treat us however he wanted but would report lies to the owner to bring himself in good favor to her. He was a slob and never cleaned up after himself. I got fed up with the drama and disrespect. Not every location is like this hopefully, but the one I was at was awful.

      Lenient dress code, ample access to new clientele, video library to expand skills and product knowledge, PTO and benefits

      I loved working there. I loved my job. I loved meeting new people..

      • Poor management and retaliation for raising concerns • Unauthorized schedule changes with no notice • Unfair NCE pressure and write-ups despite strong sales performance • Micromanagement from 400+ miles away with no understanding of local conditions • High turnover due to bad communication and bullying
