Pros
The Memphis location is great. Even though many people work remotely, S+N have integrity, and they are genuine and caring. Work can be hard in Med Tech because of the Regulatory and Quality requirements, but it's more enjoyable with people who value more than just work. And we don't forget that everything we do can be a blessing to surgeons' and patients' lives. The products are expensive to make, so the profit margins aren't as good as other companies even in Orthopaedics. But the products are superior to other companies' products. Oxinium addresses wear, weight, and metal sensitivity. Visionaire helps surgeons under cost pressure to continue to deliver high-quality implantations. Cross-linked plastic inserts striker the right balance of strength and oxidation resistance. Implant sizes / options do a great job of addressing patient bone shapes. The cementless implant options are superior in quality and design for better initial fixation and better bone / implant integration. And our Revision products for Hips and Knees offer more than just band-aid solutions--they restore patient mobility.
Cons
Some of the support functions don't feel very supportive. IT, Security, and Procurement groups are often in a different time zone. They don't have an intimate knowledge of the business resulting in generic support, which can be frustrating or counterproductive.
