Pros

Very difficult to think of any tangible pros. The Pay is 'ok' and at the low end market average The benefits are ok, and fully paid (employee only) Option grants are ok and at low Average for this type/age of Start-up Corporate office Bennies (free food, snacks, Beverages, Booze on Fridays at Happy Hour) are pretty typical for a Sil Valley company, nothing special but nice to have. (Meaningless to Field Employees) Some very smart and dedicated people, (but these are few, and are fleeing fast) Decent VC backing, but they are becoming A good Product base, the premise behind the platform is sound, and unique in this space.

Cons

1. Very poor leadership, no direction is given and everything (sales, ops, Eng) is in desperation mode. 2. The best talent (sales, Eng etc) is leaving as fast as they can 3. The product is half baked at best, and the new version is no where near ready (was forced out too soon by management, with no plan how to get existing customers upgraded, and its also lacking significant functionality available in the previous version) 4. Leadership takes the attitude that if your not happy here then quit. 5. The mantra is 'we are a start up, deal with it' is repeated ad nausea, constructive criticism from the rank and file is at best given lip service, and typically ignored all together. 6. Product is priced way above the market., Ego at the leadership level wont change to meet market conditions. 7. Lack of any type of repeatability or long term strategy in Sales. 8. Some serious Ego without results in Sales and Leadership 9. No marketing. You cant sell what people dont know about. 10. Company reacts to criticism by placing forced fake reviews on Glassdoor (its obvious to everyone) 11. Tremendous trun-over in Sales leads to constant new sales team ramp and further delays any type of repeatable go to market wins 12. Mid level managers are either petty tyrants or completely incompetent, no direction or transparency to the rank and file. 13. A very crowded and mature space, (integration) with no real strategy or plan how to deferentiate the offering and win customers. 14. Lack of repeatability and sales means burn rate is high and VC funding is hard to come by.

SnapLogic Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and for being a member of the SnapLogic team. We acknowledge our flaws and look to always develop a positive and engaging work environment. We are listening to suggestions from current and former employees and we are actively improving by rolling out an employee peer recognition program, a goal platform from the top down and personal development plans for all employees. We are happy to announce this week that we have hired and on-boarded a VP of Marketing, Darren Cunningham, who is a well known and highly respected player in the Silicon Valley. We have an extremely talented team and are very proud of their continued efforts and successes. Our sales strategy and engineering focus continue to be driven by customer demand and a hunger for a superior product. We benchmark our salaries and options and are proud to be at or above average for the Valley. I would like to specifically address point #10: "Company reacts to criticism by placing forced fake reviews on Glassdoor (its obvious to everyone)" It is hurtful to see any mention of "fake" reviews. We do nothing of the sort nor is that option available as it would compromise the integrity of this site. We have never forced any individual in any way, shape, or form to say anything positive or negative about us. We invite all of our employees to visit Glassdoor and to provide their honest feedback. What you see is a reflection of the individuals' perspective of their role within the SnapLogic team. Our goal remains to grow, prosper and learn and we thank you for your role in that and for your perspective.

Pros

Good company culture, startup so they give you a lot of work, get to work directly on codebase

Cons

Smaller company (400 people) if that is something you aren't looking for

Pros

Good place to learn a variety of technologies (not because they use the correctly, but because the integrations require you to morph those technologies into the archaic architecture that SnapLogic uses). If you're not looking to work too hard, you can get away with a lot of slack time and still end up being a top performer somehow.

Cons

I spent many years where promotions and raises were frozen yet my responsibilities increased and it never really panned out. The last straw was the CONTINUAL goal moving where new levels were added seemingly on a whim which seemed to only impact me and my potential promotions (this lead to people technically below me being higher level and title than me multiple times and only got worse). Rebanding of Engineering in particular never happened and it's seemingly because there was never a proper job matrix put together in Engineering (and shared with the employees) If you're remote, you are a second-class citizen at best, ideas and concerns are really only heard from people at HQ in San Mateo, because seemingly Zoom (the chosen voice/video platform) doesn't work with audio for remote employees (I sometimes wondered if text communication on Slack was like a shadow instance where only remote employees could see what other remote employees said). General attentiveness to security, architectural, and process issues are handled very poorly and effectively swept under the rug and left to fester and stew like a rotting corpse.
