Pros
Pretty much none, except some coworkers, the majority of whom have left, and the rest are waiting for the right time to leave. Have an exit strategy from day one.
Cons
- Overworked, burned out employees? Check - Constantly micromanaged and lied to by CEO? Check - Zero flexibility and complete disregard for employees work-life balance? Check - Low company morale? Check - Revolving door atmosphere? Check - Work ridiculously long hours including weekends and most if not all holidays for very little pay and no benefits whatsoever? Check - Have one on one meetings or even group meetings where ideas are shared about improving processes, but absolutely nothing changes going forward? Check - Below market rate salary? Check - Complete lack of transparency? Check - My way or the highway attitude? Check - Absolute zero flexibility when it came to working remotely, even occasionally unless you worked late into the night the day before. Even then, you will receive multiple messages asking when you will physically be in the office. - People leaving in droves due to CEO's inability to stop micromanaging every single person and virtually every project. - People are overloaded with projects but are not given proper resources to do the job. - Customers are sold tools that a. either don't exist or b. don't function properly and promised to be delivered in ridiculous time frames. - Teams are forced to work around the clock, code is sloppily written with numerous bugs. - Customers are lied to and misled about what the tools can do for them simply to close a sale. - Some customers have waited nearly a full year for features they were told already exists, only to find out they were lied to. - Feedback is one way, there is no opportunity to address, only receive it. - If you say or do anything the CEO doesn't like or disagrees with, he takes offense and thinks you are questioning his authority. He likes it if you are a yes man and agree with him 100% at all times. If you deviate from this one too many times, you might as well start looking for a new position. - After seeing dozens of people leave in droves, pretty much nothing has changed. That's why they are always hiring, it's not due to growth, but to replace the people who continue to leave. - Dozens upon dozens of people have left over the last 2 years, the turnover rate is well over 80%. A few months ago 9-10 people quit in a short period. This is just the US office, at the India office, on average 1-2 people quit or leave every single week and another 1-2 people are hired to replace them. - CEO paints a rosy picture of what could be if you look at the "big picture" and makes numerous promises about low salary in the beginning, saying it will only be temporary. However when it comes time to deliver on the promises such as a salary increase, you get a nothing but more promises and delays, and he will try to deflect and claim no such promise was made. - After people join, they generally see through all the BS and make plans to leave. - This company by far has one of the highest turnover rate I've seen. The average tenure of each employee is less than one year. - No one leaves good terms. If you quit, CEO will tell everyone you were let go. This has occurred on many occasions. - If you give two weeks notice, CEO will tell you to leave immediately instead of waiting. - If you need sponsorship and you came here due to this, you have to tread lightly otherwise he will cancel your paperwork. - There are several former employees who refuse to even acknowledge they ever worked here. Think about that for a second. How bad does a company have to be that a person would simply refuse to acknowledge they ever worked there? - You will be OK at least for while if you are a yes man/woman. - If you want to see first hand how NOT to run a company, this is the right place to be. Just ask any one of the dozens upon dozens of people who were there prior to you. - Don't take our word. Come and see for yourself and have an exit strategy from day one.
