Pros

This is a company that until recently was a small business, and it has maintained its corporate ethos of quality and responsibility for delivering results. It has a young staff pool, and a very experienced top management team. It is now going after and winning larger contracts.

Cons

It is still feeling its way with respect to internal policies; a lot of decisions are ad hoc, with little reflection. Its business model depends a lot on getting 60-80 hour weeks out of junior staff,, and letting them burn out. This is because they consistently under-budget the projects to win the bids, then do what they can to try to deliver. As a result, there is a lot of turn over.

Pros

The name of the company leads people to believe it is an impactful place to work for. It's not.

Cons

The new administration shut down nearly all work at SI because of the way they handled USAID. There is a skeleton staff now, but the good workers have moved on.
