Pros

Everyone there knows how difficult the job is so they are all very helpful and nice. Guaranteed pay raises every year as long as you do your job. The manager at this office is very on top of things and makes sure work gets done.

Cons

People are often upset or angry by the time they are speaking with us, you get cursed out, yelled at and attitude constantly. Very understaffed and workloads are just constantly piling up. Because the agency is so large there is very little accountability, and a lot of things get lost/not done. Thought I would be able to move up quickly there but from speaking with co-workers movement out of this position takes years. Some have been there for 5+ hoping to move. The health insurance is worse then when I was in the private sector, there were three plans to choose from so I took the middle, which I have done in the past and it barley covers anything. It has a combined dental plan with the insurance so I have to pay for anything that's not a cleaning out of pocket. I thought the insurance plan would make up for the low pay but it doesn't.

Pros

flexibility, teleworking, pay, and holidays off cool work environment.

Cons

Everything's on a quota, heavy workload, dealing with irritated claimants—it's not really a legal job.

Being trained on all the different case types processed by the position. The organization offers flex time.
