Pros
- Flexibility, office is very flexible and respect balance work/life. - Good hybrid schedule. - Good benefits. - Good retirement plan. - Good workplace if you want a safe workplace where retire.
Cons
- Very low technical job. Job title is big, but you are essentially a computer technician dealing with customer service and low-medium troubleshooting task. - Family support. Until 2020 had a very low culture of family, especially family leave. Pregnancy was treated like a disease by the government, they did not give any family leave or maternity leave, you had to use your sick time or time off to stay out. This was changed in October 2020, now they allow up to 12 weeks of family leave. - Low pay compared with the private sector. Honestly if you are making 3 times the same pay in a private company it is not convenient. - Politics, too much. People and office drama is all over the place. - Weak management. - Since 2022 they have been hiring bodies from anywhere, because offices are short staffed. Before 2022 they hired people based on qualifications, now the only qualification is "be sure he/her is breathing person". This has impacted the quality of work in a very significant way. - Very tollerant woke enviroment. I do respect all indivuduals and their life choices, but I do believe they have to stay out of a work enviroment, especially government enviroment. This is causing less and less trust from the public and making SSA sound like a circus.
