Pros

Pros of working for SSA is that you will ALWAYS wonder how you are doing. (imagine willingly working for an employer that needs an active union) You will ALWAYS be asked to forget what you are doing in the moment, to be demanded to do 20 different things, all while being reassigned from the Front end to the phones and back again! Didn't get to your normally assigned work in the day? Don't worry! You'll have plenty of time to email and instant message with management while they degrade you for not doing it all! If you enjoy being gaslit, made to feel crazy, made to feel like you're personal issues aren't even considerable, or like being yoyoed from workload to workload, at the whim of someone higher up, at another location, who only looks at reports, then this JOB is absolutely for you! Are you a disabiled vet? Maybe just a disabled person? Then SSA is for you! Absolutely no where else will you ever be made to feel as unimportant and a burden to your management than with SSA Finally, if you like being baited and switched on telework or worklife balance or anything really to do with the job that would be considered a perk, then SSA is also perfect for you! The mental trauma you will receive for the years of service you complete is the gist that just keeps giving! You will ALWAYS have therapy to go to or anxiety/depression medication to take as a result of your time with SSA! Finally, if you have a family, I'd suggest SSA for you! Management isnt understanding and will absolutely do everything they can to make you feel worse for needing to take time to help sick family members, because ultimately only SSA wants is the imperial reports on what was cleared, how many telephone calls were answered, how long the public waited in the office and whatever hot report someone at the area directors office, regional office, or central office want. (don't worry, none of the people demanding status on the lists ever look at it or try to work it themselves, that's just for you to do! To recap, if you enjoy having everything wrecked in your personal life, you crave the attention of an abusive relationship built on toxicity, or need other people to tear you down because of your life circumstances than SSA is for you! Worry that you need the location for this dream job? Worry no further! It's everywhere and seems to be encouraged by higher ups in middle to high management! If you get a caring, good manager, worry not, they will be retiring or promoting or leaving shortly anyway and the people they promote will all but guarantee that they will treat their new charges with animosity and toxicity!
