Pros
The best thing about working here, I like the people I work with
Cons
I have worked for Sodexo at a major Oil and gas unit. I had high hopes of this, (Sodexo) being my last career choice. I have been in this business for 18+ years. I feel I am a highly skilled employee and have moved quickly from cold catering to lead cook trainee in just over 18 months. I am currently looking to transfer to another unit. There is no communication from leadership, little to no training, more and more work with little to no extra help. When I say more work that includes the aquisition of a potential account that needsfood to be prepped and delivered to accomodate up to 200 people each day before 10am, The amount of staff to do this is 2 sometimes 3. These 2/3 also need to prep for the line service including breakfast and lunch service. There are days when we dont have product, eggs, meat, dry goods. etc. This is a huge huge account. There should be no reason for orders not being placed or "dropped". Incentives have not been paid. Reviews have not been made. "Pop up special events" that need immediate attention" when we all know these events have been in the works for days and sometimes weeks. Its always a last minute sprint. A total lack of accountability on management. The feeling of never catching up is rampant. I have worked hard in each and every job, and have a great work ethic. I am beginning to think I have made a wrong decision . I am a Chef, not a "cook faster and get it out" food worker.
