Pros

The best part about this company was the people I got to work with in addition to having a company car and a gas card.

Cons

There is no work-life balance whatsoever. You will have to work 7 days a week just to scrape by. There is also an unfair amount of blame and scapegoating directed towards the FEC position by all facets of the company while having to do the most work by far of anyone involved in the project management aspect of the job. Upper management expects you to hit unrealistic numbers given the region that you are in and refuses to listen to any feedback that could help the situation. Pure apathy on their part which is contrary to their motto of "One Team, One Dream." The real motto should be "One Man, One Dream" since everyone, especially in management, seem to be looking out only for themselves. If you start out in the FES position, prepare to get 80% of your closes clawed back which will ultimately leave you with getting paid the minimum salary for an extremely long time. Therefore, you are not going to be paid a living wage. The closes that you get are merely instant gratification until it is all taken away. A big reason as to why one gets so many claw backs is because SolarCity has very high standards in qualifying a home that is suitable to install solar. The most annoying aspect about the job is that there are so many different hands that go into a project that if only one person commits an error or decides to be lazy, it will diminish your credibility with the customer, and even worse, your personal numbers will take a hit while also losing your commission.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
