Pros

Flexible hours depending on your manager. Culture used to be very good, but has gone down in the last few months. Free coffee and soda. Café in the building. The company is a really good high values company. They are not out to get people or screw customers over. I value working for good people and management definitely cares about people and customers experience is a priority.

Cons

Pay is terrible compared to competitors and period. Hourly rates need to be drastically improved. Top performers can make a lot, but there are a lot of barriers to being successful at this company. There are so many departments that work with customers that it can slow down the installations and directly effect your pay when theirs is not effected. Do not match 401K. If you want to be successful you are expected to grind or die, there really aren't many resources to be successful here other than just asking everyone you can how to get better. There are not many opportunities to move up in the company. They have let go more than 2/3 of the sales force because of profitability in the last year.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
