Pros

Employees truly believe in the mission of the company and most are friendly and committed to their teams. Health benefits are pretty great and start day 1

Cons

Training is incredibly short for FES, and has been reduced even more since I started. Sales targets are misleading, two metrics determine your success and one is entirely out of your control You live and die by the reputation of solar in your area and the local politics. I wasn't told about the restrictions in my area until after being hired. FES position require you to stand in retail stores for 8 hours a day, commutes to stores can be upwards of an hour depending on location. Company is pushing conflicting missions of high potential customers and only choosing likely potential customers. Base salary isn't bad but remains the same regardless of experience and time at company Shadow metrics for each store you're in. If a specific store hasn't received enough opps or contracts you can get stuck holding the bag at the end of the month. Turnover is incredibly high. Hours and locations can change without notice, schedule is only available in two week blocks that don't reset until Monday.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
