Pros
Working for SolarCity is a great job--doing something good for the world, helping people save $$ on energy and using better energy. Its a tumultulous time with the Tesla acquisition but very exciting. There is a lot of cutting edge decisions happening and its fun to be a part if it.
Cons
Work life balance for a consultant is so out of whack. Consultants work 60 hours a week for such little pay. Its disturbing. Hopefully the merger will help consultants gets a better comp plan. As panels become more efficient, system sizes go down which means less pay for commission. Its an antiquated way to pay because consultants in the SLO are get paid way less than other areas simply because system sizes are less than normal.
