Pros

You're in a business the whole world should buying from. The concept is literally saving the planet.

Cons

Simply put, while i'm 100% on board with solar and our need to divest from petroleum, this has been the worst job I've ever had. 100% commission sales, a cult-like atmosphere and a bunch of arrogant young people managing with no world experience while churning out 80% turnaround .Out of 20 people who started with me, 3 remain. I lasted 45 days without a penny for my efforts. If you're beyond your 20's don't even bother, you'll be washed out and indebted to this company. The employee turnaround in the back-end of the company where your jobs are being processed in incredible. It's almost impossible to speak with the same person twice. The constant confusion, ball dropping and delays have an effect on every sales person's ability to get paid. I certainly hope Tesla has a better management plan because what I experienced in Dallas an aggressive sales program fueled by greed and a disingenuous desire to save the planet. Every rule or ethical directive by this management came with a wink and a nod. Just sell glass to anyone, whether they really need or want it or not.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
