Pros

Good People and a great Idea for the environment

Cons

Poor, Poor, Poor, Management. This company was like a bunch of inexperienced children playing dress up. I am a Logistics professional with a specialty in inventory management and lean six sigma practices. I joined SC back in 2014 with hopes of being part of something great. Instead what I got was upper corporate management that wanted nothing to do with actually improving the company and just gave out free t-shirts instead. SC did a good job of finding talented Warehouse professional but then completely ignored them when the raised red flags about current practices. After the "merger" with Tesla, more cuts came in the form of reducing WHM salary by 20% and was justified by stating we were now "allowed" to work over time, basically rewarding inefficacy. I left this company because I know, as a professional in warehousing, inventory control, & logistics these guys are going to sink. Not to mention there is absolutely NO upward mobility or career growth after the first year. If you’re looking for a career in supply chain this is a good place to cut your teeth, but don’t plan on staying long, don’t get sucked into this relatively easy job.

Pros

Just to quantify my review a bit, I am within the top 10% of inside sales reps within our 12,000 person company. It is a great place to work and people doing well ARE able to make good money here. The executive team ALWAYS has a platform for reps to help make SolarCity a better place every quarter. They involve the top 20 reps each quarter in various ways to help their peers through an interactive group called Team Elite. Executives, VP's, Directors, and Managers are always willing to help and go to bat when there are issues with things that need to be fixed. The direction of the company is consistent and although the company is large, decision makers work as hard as possible to steer the big ship quickly when necessary.

Cons

Knee jerk reactions with decision making at a director level create issues from time to time. Culture has had its ups and downs due to HUGE growth last year and subsequent high attrition rates.
